Conor Coady, the Wolves and England actor, believes that there will soon be a moment when a player coming out as gay will be "part of everyday life in football".
Last month Adelaide United star Josh Cavallo fought back tears as he came out as the world's first openly gay professional footballers playing at the uppermost level.
The 21-year-old said he had been "living a double life" and that he grew up "ashamed" he would not be able to play football and be gay.
His choice to come out was praised by many figures within the sport including Gerard Pique and Jordan Henderson.

A prominent GAA player, who publicly revealed his sexuality last month while still playing Gaelic football, has urged other sports people to come out.
Tyrone man Kevin Penrose revealed he gets a lot of private messages from other players who are gay but have not come out yet. Kevin claimed that if they also come out, it could transform lads’ society in the GAA.
LGBT+ groups like ShoutOut and League of Ireland club Bohemians FC’s Pride Committee commended Penrose's courage and said it is "important for stories like Kevin's to be heard".
Penrose (31), who works as a explore blog influencer, is among a small cohort of openly gay Irish sportsmen, including Cork goalie Donal og Cusack, who came out way back in 2009.
